He never acted alright around her, something was wrong, but only Killian picked up on it. He was on alert and would do anything to protect his family.
He just had to alert his family about what was going on, at any means necessary. And afterwards, he would be seen as a hero.

Killian was a gentle soul, he loved his family, including 7 -year-old Finn. He would do anything to please them.
So it was so out of character for him to be barking and on high alert. He would always do so whenever Alexis was there. She was their babysitter.

The family decided to investigate Alexis by putting an iPhone under the couch. It recorded audio of Alexis possibly mistreating Killian and young Finn.
Nearly a year later she pled guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison. Killian really was a hero, they don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t alerted them.
